The similarities between the sexes end there. The Toronto Sun reported that women suffer from more nightmares, and are more likely to dream about someone dying, being paralyzed by fear, failing an exam, and my personal nighttime hell: snakes, spiders, and insects.
Men, apparently, believe they’re superheros. “Men are more likely to dream they fly or float in the air, they have magical powers or higher mental faculties, they kill someone, or they travel to other planets and meet aliens.”
This is all well and good—if you're not me. You see, ever since I was a little girl, I’ve talked in my sleep. It's mortifying. I have no control over what comes out of my mouth, and I get teased by everyone who overhears. Once, I woke myself up from a dream by saying, “We used to hook up A LOT.” My boyfriend at the time shot up in bed next to me looking very angry and said, “Are you kidding me?” My response: “I was dreaming about Michael Jackson!”
The sad thing is it was the truth! But that, my friends, was the beginning of the end of the relationship. I pray for the day they invent a human sleep muzzle.
What do you dream about most often? Do you have lots of sex dreams? Does anyone out there talk in her sleep? And, more importantly, who is working on the cure?
